The End!!

This is my last blog of 2011. I am grateful and humbled by you. I could not let this year close without saying thank you. I want to thank each one that has supported my blog, Waters of Wisdom. My heart is full of gratitude to the visible and invisible followers and those that stop by occasionally. The journey has been great, but your love and support encouraged me. My prayer is that the blessings of the Lord overtake you in 2012. Trust God, its a must!

Write It Off

As we close 2011 and enter 2012, we must make a conscious decision to Write It Off. It's time to get off the merry-go-round, ferris wheel, and roller coaster.  Its time to walk into purpose and destiny. Write It Off!

People, places, situations, circumstances, and obstacles that have been dead weights and fruitless. Write It Off!

Don't look at it as a loss. A loss doesn't necessarily mean a loss. A loss can mean a Win. Remember this, And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. Romans 8:28

It's time to take inventory. It's time to count up the cost. It's time to make decisions. It's time to get unstuck.

Shhhhhh!!!!

Shhhhhh.......Do you hear what I hear? This season for many brings a lot of hustle and bustle. Quiet yourself and listen. Believe it or not some people are afraid to be quiet while others don't know how to be quiet. Shhhh....We can miss some valuable lessons by not being quiet.

And that ye study to be quiet, and do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing. I Thessalonians 4:11-12

The MacMillan  dictionary defines study as the process of learning about a subject by reading and by going to school, university, etc.

Another dictionary defines study as:

application of the mind to the acquisition of knowledge, as by reading, investigation, or reflection.

zealous endeavor or assiduous effort.

to apply oneself; endeavor.

to think deeply, reflect, or consider.

to read carefully or intently.

to endeavor to learn or memorize

to give thought to; consider.

Study to be quiet. Shhhhhh..... Its going to take some work on your part, but give place to this valuable piece of instruction.  Quietness can bring a lot of positive results. You can hear and see clearer when you're quiet.

Don't be so quick to respond to everything. Of course, you have something to say.  Timing is so important. The lack of sensitivity towards timing can cause shipwreck and irreparable damage in your life and the life of others. 

Shhhhhh ..... This is why we must follow the swift-slow-slow method. It works, but consistency is key. If you are diligent to apply these instructions, effective results will be achieved.  The swift-slow-slow method was penned by Apostle James. Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath.
 James 1:19

Politics!!!

There is a political arena in the spirit. An ongoing war in the heavenlies. In the natural realm we can see it on every level. Children have a political arena at school. Bullying, clicks, popularity, and the list goes on.

Adults encounter political arenas at work. Needless to say, even though the government is a political arena itself there are politics within  politics. Family feuding is nothing but politics. The systems that be are politics.

Denominationalism is  politics. The law of the spirit and the law of the flesh, politics. The church world has a political arena. Gospel stations play the same songs and artists over and over again. Seldom making room for the new. Someone else in the backwoods has a song. Circles and clicks determine the opening/closing  of ministry doors.

Some trying to get to the same platform. Others trying to make a name for themselves. John the Baptist is identified as a voice crying out in the wilderness. There's only power in one name and that name is Jesus. Church  politics bring a divide and a spiritual onslaught. These things should not be. It's time to stop the madness.

Reach One!!

It is important to know we may not reach the masses. Start with the crumbs, reach one, then another one, and so on. There are times you will hear of those you touched and times you will never know. I want to encourage educators to keep teaching, someone is listening.

I Choose To Forgive!!!

Forgiveness is an act.  It requires faith and action. Our Spirit, Soul and Body are affected by forgiveness or the lack of forgiveness. I agree that forgiveness embodies power and transformation.

When we walk (our lifestyle) in unforgiveness, we are like a time bomb waiting to explode.  There are times when we are more readily to forgive those we choose to forgive than forgiving across the board.

Forgiveness is like Our Father in Heaven.  It has no respect of persons. Teaching forgiveness to the younger generation is a strategic move to offset the enemy (unforgiveness) that grows up with our youth to adulthood.

Understanding unforgiveness as an enemy and choosing to forgive releases us to live a freed live.  I am grateful that God requires us to forgive one another before He forgives us. Imagine if He didn't mandate this requirement.  Some of us would still be in bondage, chained and shackled with unforgivenss.

While the devil seeks, you seek God. Everyone has experienced hell in their lives, but everyone won't experience Heaven. Jesus' spent a season in hell, but it was for a purpose. Your season of hell is for a purpose. When the devil comes looking for you, don't be there.

I Accept!!!

Life is a teacher and full of lessons. Friends come and friends go. Jesus, truly is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Proverbs 18:24 I truly thank God for Jesus. Failures and successes are inevitable. Dreams grow and dreams die. We learn there are times to just keep things to ourselves. Truth beats a lie every time. And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. John 8:32 Don't believe the lies. Change is ever present, but there are things we can not change.

Jesus sets an example of setting aside time for prayer. Communication with the Father is very important. Jesus being our example, we must know when to withdraw ourselves to prayer. The Bible tells us to pray without ceasing. There are times we have to consciously withdraw ourselves from the hustle and bustle of this world, our daily routines and schedules. It is each individual's responsiblity to pray.

No Time Now for That!!!

There are many possible reasons for growing weary in well doing. A lack of appreciation, relapses in those we've helped, the pressures of coping with our own problems, and the list goes on. Reasons that can all wear us out. It's possible our confidence may be undermined by a sense of personal adequacy. There are many distractions, including selfishness, critical attitudes, and unnecessary side issues. There's no doubt these factors cause us to focus on ourselves. It's hard to help others with their troubles at times when we're not sure we can handle our own. Be encouraged, because strength comes when we reach out to others.
In serving others, we not only obey the law of Christ, but also experience a refreshing freedom from our own  self-centeredeness.

No Time Now for That, because It's Your Time, It's Your Due Season.
And let us not be weary in well-doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not. Galatians 6:9

3 days!

Three (3), is a significant number. It represents completeness. 3 is referenced several times in scripture. I recently had a 3 experience. October 25, 2011 we viewed a possible place to house the ministry. On October 28, 2011 the third day, a contract was signed. We walked away with 3 keys to our new ministry home. What a completion! Do you have any experiences with 3?


The Number 3

    Another of the numbers where we can readily see God use it in a spiritual sense to signify something, is the number three. It is used of God to signify His Purpose or His Will! For example, when God sent the three messengers to Abraham to tell him that Sarah would conceive in her old age (Genesis 18), by the use of the number three we see in this an illustration that they came with God's "purpose and will" to Abraham. i.e., it was by the will of God and for His own purposes that Sarah should conceive so that God would make a great nation of Abraham through it.
The same illustration is seen as God brought a thick darkness upon the land of Egypt (exodus 10:22-23) for three days. In this, God's purpose and sovereign will of judgment is worked out. The number three illustrated that it was for God's purposes that they were in darkness while all the Children of Israel had light!

Take the Gloves OFF!

There's a war going on, and we might be taking the wrong approach. Take the Gloves OFF means it is not a fleshly war. The war in the heavenlies, the spiritual realm, manifests in the natural realm. By the time it hits you, know it was already taking place. Seeing through your spiritual eyes gives you the ability to measure the onslaughts of the enemy.

It's time to take your sword out its case and for others you have to move from shining your sword to wielding your sword. I'm referring to the Sword of the Spirit. The Sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God. If you're reading, start studying. If you're studying, start applying. If you're applying, start believing. If you're believing, start standing. If you're standing, start receiving. If you're receiving, keep praising and worshiping. It may not feel like it, but the victory has already been won. Take the Gloves OFF!

You can be assured that, It is not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the Lord of hosts. (Zechariah 4:6) Apostle Paul gives us a word of advice that we must all adhere to in this day and time. Let's take heed!!! Finally, be strong in the Lord, and in the strength of his might.  

Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world-rulers of this darkness, against the spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Wherefore take up the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and, having done all, to stand.  

Stand therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; withal taking up the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the evil one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: with all prayer and supplication praying at all seasons in the Spirit, and watching thereunto in all perseverance and supplication for all the saints. (Ephesians 6:10-18)

FORGIVING FRIDAY!!!

Forgiveness is always present. Yes, we forgave in the past, but as long as we live we must extend forgiveness. When we sit back and reflect how much the Lord has forgiven us, extending forgiveness should not be an option. It's true that offences can be great, but the Bible says vengeance blelongs to the Lord. Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written , Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19

Jesus has been right where you are. He had to forgive and that's why He was able to tell Peter to forgive seventy times seven. Jesus saith unto him, I say not unto thee, Until seven times: but, Until seventy times seven. Matthew 18:22 In other words, there is no limit to extending forgiveness. We have been taught to treat others the way we want to be treated.

Forgiveness may not be reciprocated at times, but we must still extend forgiveness. Forgiveness frees us from so many things. Things such as hurt, pain, discouragement, bondage, and the list goes on. Most importantly, if we don't forgive Our Father in heaven will not forgive us. But if ye do not forgive, neither will your Father which is in heaven  forgive your trespasses. Mark 11:26

Choose to WALK IN FORGIVENESS today, it's your choice.

WHAT'S GOOD???!!!

How many times do we hear this question asked? What's Good? This question may be asked in many ways, but our response can make a world of a difference. We have a choice to speak positive or negative. The energy we sometimes expend speaking negatively can be used to speak positively.

Positive talk can change things and work in our favor. Positive talk charges the atmosphere. Negative talk can open you up for failure and attack. It can also keep you stuck. Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof. Proverbs 18:21

Choose to speak words of life today and everyday for the rest of your life. It's your choice!!!

I want to be free to be Me
Let me out that I can see the Me that's free
Free to speak, free to write, free to create
Just free to be Me
They say we're born free, but as we grow our freedom gets lost
Oh how, I want to be free to be Me
I'm not like others and you're not like me
So open your hearts to receive the Me that's free

Daddy!

It was one year ago, today September 26, 2010 that my Daddy passed away. Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday. The last 365 days were like none other. If it had not been for the Lord on my side, I know where I would be. Yes, I miss Daddy. He was one of a kind. Jack was just Jack. Oh how I love him. I could talk to him about everything. Daddy believed in me, his baby girl. It didn't matter how old I got, when we talked it was hey baby girl.

Think about it. I was named after Daddy Jack. No I'm not a boy, so I received the name "Jackie" (Jacqueline). Daddy's baby girl. Understand, I understand the reality of physical death, but I more so understand the reality of eternal life or death. My heart rejoices that I know one day Daddy will live again. Yes, Jack accepted Jesus Christ into his life as his Lord and Savior. The best choice we all need to make. I never stopped loving or missing Daddy. I can remember that Sunday morning getting dressed for service. I had to preach that day. The phone rang, I answered hey cous. I could see the number.  It was cousin, Nita. She quietly said hey Jackie. Then proceeded to say Jackie, Jack died this morning.

I broke. I lost my strength. I fell to the floor with a loud cry from my inward parts. My life has changed in a moment. In a twinkling of an eye. We had recently moved to North Carolina. I was getting closer to Jack in distance. Yes, there were times I called him Jack. That's the kind of relationship we had. I started a new job the August before he died. I was going to see Daddy within the next four months. I know today our ways are not God's ways and our thoughts are not God's thoughts.

I went to see one of my favorite movies this weekend, The Lion King. Yes, the Lion King. It's such a powerful movie. Cymba went through when his father died, but found strength when he came to the understanding that his father lived in him. So I'm happy to say that the memories of Daddy Jack lives in me. Daddy is now in a better place. Abba Father continues to be with us. Let's draw closer to Abba day by day.

Abba is the transliteration of the Aramaic word for father. It occurs three times in the New Testament. It is always used as a direct address to God the Father. In Mark 14:36, Jesus uses it when He asks the Father to take away his cup. In Romans 8:15 and Galatians 4:6, it is the cry of the Spirit of God in the believer. 

Historically, this word would be used during New Testament times by a child addressing his or her father. It would have been akin to the modern use of papa. However, the New Testament writers are careful to avoid too great a familiarity in addressing God. Instead of translating Abba, they transliterate it, so that it takes on special significance in reference to God. Then, Abba is used in conjunction with the word Father – “Abba, Father.” Father is the translation of Abba, but by putting the two together, the address to God is both personalized and kept in the proper tone of respect. The double title has both intimacy and dignity.

By His nature as the Son of God, Jesus had the right to familiarly address His Father. The occasion where we see this is in the Garden of Gethsemane when Jesus struggled with the cup He was to drink. In His human spirit, He desired the cup to be removed. Yet, in His obedience as the Son, He declared, “nevertheless not what I will, but what thou wilt” (Mark 14:36). This incident provides a glance into the intimate communion between the Father and the Son. The Son’s faithfulness to obey the most difficult of acts, an act by which the holy Son of God became sin for mankind, was proof of the depth of His love for the Father (John 14:31).

By his union with Jesus Christ, the believer enters into the same intimacy with the Father. Instead of the fear of bondage, the believer receives “the Spirit of adoption” (Romans 8:15) and enters into “the adoption of sons” (Galatians 4:5). By reason of this sonship, “God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father” (Galatians 4:6). The legal relationship is created by adoption; the intimacy is assured by the entrance of Jesus Christ into our hearts. We then cry, “Abba, Father,” with the Spirit of the Son. As stated in 1John 1:3, “truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ.”

Made Up Mind!

As we walk this narrow road there are times we need a made up mind to keep it moving. There is joy, peace, and love on the narrow as well as long-suffering, trials, and tribulations. My mind is made up as I continue to press toward the Prize. My help comes from the Lord. It's with a made up mind that I stand. It's with a made up mind that I serve. It's with a made up mind that I love. It's with a made up mind that I keep it moving. Know that life in Christ is going to take a made up mind.

JESUS

Grace, Peace, and Mercy to those that check the blog frequently and periodically. Of assurance, I know someone prayed for me in addition to Jesus' and the Holy Spirit's intercessions. It's definitely not over yet, still standing. God is still on the throne and the expected end is in view. Can you remember when 2011 entered, but now it will shortly depart? There are times when I don't know what else to say. The songwriter sing, say the name of Jesus, say the name of Jesus when you don't know what else to say. I am a witness. I've found myself saying JESUS, time and time again. Another songwriter pens, there is power in the name of Jesus. JESUS! Yet another songwriter sings Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...Jesus, Jesus, Jesus...Jesus, Jesus, Jesus. This songwriter sings, I just can't stop praising His name, I just can't stop praising His name, I just can't stop praising His name, JESUS. Why do we try to make this WAY, so difficult and burdensome? Jesus says simply, Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My is yoke easy and My burden is light. Matthew 11:28-30 (NKJV)        JESUS!

Speak Lord!!!

Why ask the Lord to speak, if you really don't want to hear what He says? Why ask the Lord to speak, if you pick and choose what you want to receive? Why ask the Lord to speak and then struggle to obey? Why ask the Lord to speak just to turn the other way? There are blessings attached to obedience.
Isaiah 1:19, If ye be willing and obedient , ye shall eat the good of the land. OBEY!

Strengthen Me, O Lord!

There are times along life's journey that we must pause and make the petition, Strengthen Me, O Lord. You may look to the left or right and there is no one in sight. Dial a number for prayer and receive an answering machine to no avail. Express yourself to a listening ear and realize you shouldn't have shared. BUT He did promise to make a way of escape when it gets too much to bear. David never expected his own familiar friend. BUT today we know Jesus is a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Life happens, this we must know, He promised never to leave us alone. Continue to walk this journey, because there is an expected end. Don't dismay and don't despair, just whisper Strengthen Me, O Lord.

The Lord is MY Light and MY Salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the STRENGTH of MY life of Whom shall I be afraid? Psalm 27:1

Wait A Minute!!!

Have you ever told someone wait a second? How about wait a minute? Knowing your second and minute would be a little longer. Someone might say its just a figure of speech, but it is a way to record and estimate time. Imagine going to the doctor's office or just a place of business. The receptionist directs you to the waiting room after you check in. There are magazines to read, possibly soft music or a television playing. You are made to feel comfortable as you wait. Your comfortability ends when the time you expect and desire to wait is exceeded.

We all have a tolerable level of waiting. Then here comes the twisting and turning. The thoughts of everything you could and should be doing. Its possible you may start talking to yourself about this length of waiting just doesn't make sense. It really intensifies if someone else in the waiting room feels the same way. Tension and agitation fills the air. A conversation about the wait may even spark. The receptionist may begin to receive complaints about the wait period.  Depending on a person's tolerability wait level, it is possible they will cancel, reschedule or just walk out. And someone said patience is a virtue. It is a virtue indeed to those that wait and learn to wait.

The disciples were told to wait for the promise of the Father (Holy Spirit) in Acts 1:4. Are you anxious about ministry? Romans 12:7 tells us to wait on our ministry. Have you ever wondered what you're waiting for? For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith. (Galatians 5:5) Imagine waiting all day, 24 hours. The psalmist petitions the Lord, Lead me in thy truth, and teach me: for thou art the God of my salvation; on thee do I wait all the day.(Psalm 25:5) Discouragement hits us all, but if you wait on the Lord: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart wait, I say, on the Lord. (Psalm 27:14) It is good to know when impatience tries to overtake our being we can rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him. (Psalm 37:7)

There are some benefits of waiting:
  • We inherit the earth. (Psalm 37:9)
  • We are exalted. (Psalm 37:34)
  • We are saved. (Proverbs 20:22)

It's possible, Happy and Sad!!!

Happy and Sad is how I feel. My heart aches and my spirit rejoice. I'm rejoicing, because 19yrs ago I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl..... Amber Shareese. I have watched her grow and develop into a beautiful young lady. April 26 is her day no doubt, but 26 has been a reminder for me of Jack, my father's passing. It's a mix for me. I remember birth and death. Can this be? I sit here and the tears form. I wipe them quickly before any one sees. The 26th of every month since his death on September 26 I think of daddy. Of course, I think of him at other times. It's just that on this day(26) I remember the call I received as I prepared for service.  My heart aches as I remember my cousin saying, "Jackie, Jack died." I am lost for words, but yes it is possible.....Happy and Sad.

Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the God of all comfort. Who comforteth us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in any trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of God. II Corinthians 1:3-4 (KJV)

Jesus Watch!!!

The dictionary defines Watch: to be alertly on the lookout, look attentively, observe, as to see what comes, is done, or happens, to look or wait attentively and expectantly, to watch for a signal; to watch for an opportunity, to be careful or cautious. to keep awake, to keep guard.

There are so many watches going on.  When I awoke at 3AM this morning there was announcement going across the TV screen.  It said there is a tornado watch in certain NC counties. This led me to search tornado watch on the computer.  Not only was there a tornado watch, it was a severe thunderstorm watch between 3AM-4:00AM.  It started storming about 3:58AM.  The meteorologist was correct.  There are other watches such as hurricane watch or an earthquake watch.  The Good Book as some refer to tells us to watch and pray.  Mark 13:33 (KJV) Take ye heed, watch and pray: for ye know not when the time is. It's time to add the watch to your prayer.  

I would like to announce the Jesus Watch.  Of assurance Jesus is going to show up.  We can't put a time on it, but He did leave us some nuggets. Matthew 24:14 (KJV) And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come. There are signs of the times. Matthew 24:5-8 (KJV)  For many shall come in my name, saying , I am Christ; and shall deceive many.  And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled : for all these things must come to pass , but the end is not yet.  For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.  All these are the beginning of sorrows.  

Jesus is getting ready for His return and our arrival.  John 14:2-3 (KJV) In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am , there ye may be also.  There are many preparation for tornadoes and hurricanes, etc. We must prepare, we must be ready.  Jesus' return is any day now and we must keep in mind His timing.  II Peter 3:8 (KJV) But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day

Jesus Watch is a continuous announcement and will only cease when he shows up.  I Thessalonians 4:16-17 (KJV) For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:  Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Go Serve!

Did you know when you serve it can bring victory and many rewards? Imagine an intense ping pong game and its game point. The serve can determine your win. The serve in a tennis match or volleyball game can be the point of victory. You can also make money when you serve. In most service type jobs tips are allowed. Waiters and waitresses can determine the amount of thier tips by the way they serve. Did I mention you can become wealthy when you serve? "Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo , we have left all, and have followed thee. And Jesus answered and said , Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's, But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life." Mark 10:28-30 (KJV)

A person knows how they like to be served, so why not serve in the same capacity or better?

"Make a joyful noise unto the LORD, all ye lands. Serve the LORD with gladness: come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and bless his name. 5 For the LORD is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations." Psalm 100 (KJV)

ABOUT FORTY!

Just want readers to know when I first started writing this blog it was just about forty days. As you can see I was delayed, but on time. smile :-)

About Forty!!!!

Grace, Peace, and Mercy.

I humbly write this blog. It's been about 40 days. Interestingly, I would check it periodically like a blog penned by me would appear. There are many thoughts in my spirit, but making the transition from my thoughts to paper has been delayed. Going back to my last blog I realize it has been about 40 days since I've blogged. The number 40 stood out. It stood out because it confirmed the thoughts of what I was going to pen. The first thought was going to be entitled, It was a Light Thing! "For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!] II Corinthians 4:17 (AMP) Another thought would have been entitled, Its All Good! "We are assured and know that all things work together and are for good to and for those who love God and are called according to His design and purpose." Romans 8:28 (AMP) A long story short, I'm back. I want to say thank you to my audience for not giving up on me and checking the blog periodically. It was "ABOUT FORTY!". We will have this Forty experience along this journey, but to God be the Glory I made it!!!!

If we're not conscientious 2011 will slowly slip away. We'll look up one day and realize the last six months slipped away. As soon as winter departs it arrives. It is the 47th day of the year and what gains have you made? Did you meet any short term goals or make any progression on your long term goals? This is not to discourage you, but encourage you. It's not over yet, there are 318 days remaining. Take a breather, regroup and march forward. "So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom". Psalms 90:12

It's A Love Thang!!!

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and the love bug fills the air. Actually its here! Red roses, flowers, red hearts and cards, candies, chocolate kisses, smiles and hugs...As quickly as it arrives it so quickly departs. Just 24 hours, 1 day out of the year set a part to celebrate and express our love for those we love. I'm so glad He loves me and He loves you too. He shows it everyday of the year. No limits, no boundaries..its an everlasting love I just can't do without. I've been bit by the love bug and the blood of Jesus is my gift. It won't die, it won't melt, it will never lose its power. For God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16

Are you Salty?

What is a good steak without seasoning? Just think, your favorite sub without a little salt, pepper, oregano, oil and vinegar. Something is missing. Imagine your food bland or not seasoned to your unique taste buds. Have you ever been asked to be a taste tester and had to tell the cook something is missing? I'm sure we have stories about our food experiences.

Luke 9:50 Salt is good: but if the salt have lost his saltness, wherewith will ye season it? Have salt in yourselves; and have peace one with another.

Matthew 5:13 Ye are the salt of the earth: but if the salt have lost his savour, wherewith shall it be salted ? it is thenceforth good for nothing, but to be cast out, and to be trodden under foot of men.

We should be lights in this world. The love of God should emanate from us. Your presence should make a difference wherever you go. You should have the flavor of your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. You stand out when you're not trying to. Has someone ever say to you there is just something different about you? It is of uttermost importance that we not lose our savour. Jesus said we are the salt of the earth.

Start Again!

On your mark, get ready, get set, GO!!!! What is life? A human being has only one and it's our responsibility to live life to the fullest. Yes, along life's journey there are bumps, obstacles, afflictions, trials and tribulations, but the blessed thing is we can START AGAIN. Sometimes we start out strong, get weak, discouraged, disappointed and then give up. Proverbs 24:16 For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

As long as you have the breath of life in you never hesitate to start again. There are many new beginnings. Isaian 43:19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth ; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert.

I encourage you each and every day to START AGAIN.  You will FINISH!!!! Phillippians 1:6 Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

Customer Service

Have you ever wondered what happened to good customer service? There was a time when the customer was always right. Even though we know this is not the case, the thought and care shown made a world of difference.  Have you ever received good customer service? If so, you know when customer service is poor. I have been asking this question for the last fifteen years. Customer service is just not the same .

I find myself saying I should start a customer service consulting business. If a company wants to increase their sales and productivity, one area to focus on would be customer service.  I am so glad Jesus is in the customer service business. He knew how to serve. He recognized he needed the Holy Spirit. Luke 4:18-19 "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted , to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, To preach the acceptable year of the Lord."  

I am guaranteed excellent customer service when I go to Jesus.  John 13:12-15 "So after he had washed their feet, and had taken his garments, and was set down again, he said unto them, Know ye what I have done to you? Ye call me Master and Lord: and ye say well; for so I am.  If I then, your Lord and Master, have washed your feet; ye also ought to wash one another's feet. For I have given you an example, that ye should do as I have done to you." We must learn to serve like Jesus. Remember, Colossians 3:17 "And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him."

You Are Under Arrest

When we hear the word "arrest" our thoughts may immediately image police and crime. The police represents authority.  It's their responsibility to handcuff and lock "criminals" away. Websters Dictionary definition of arrest is to seize or take to jail on a charge of breaking the law. No one is exempted from being arrested.
It is evident in scriptures servants of God were arrested. The religious folks arrested the saved folks. What crime were they accused of committing? They were accused of preaching and teaching about Jesus Christ. These servants applied the Word of God to their lives while the religious folks had a form of godliness and denied the power.  Peter was arrested and Prayer unlocked the doors. Paul and Silas were locked up and Praise unlocked the doors. No weapon formed against them prospered.

You Are Under Arrest. You've been charged for selling out to Jesus, committing your thoughts to the Lord, and loving the Lord your God with all your heart, mind, strength and soul. If you posted bail after being arrested, I admonition you to turn yourself in. There is a warrant out for your arrest. You were bought with a price and no longer your own. Acts 17:28 For in him we live, and move, and have our being. Jesus paid it all.

Have you submitted to the arrest?
